Weddings
I do’s and I don’ts…
Weddings are about 2 people celebrating their love for each other. It’s as simple as that but every wedding is different. Are you a couple who likes to follow the latest trends? Or are you a couple that likes to stand out from the crowd? Do you want to get married in a rustic barn or a 1930’s style hotel? Maybe you want to get married on a beach or or up in the mountains?
Looking back on weddings over the years, the styles of weddings have certainly changed. Some of those bridesmaid dresses that were on trend in the 80’s (you know which ones I mean). I’m sure we’ve all looked at our parents wedding album at some point and had a good giggle at what Aunty Mabel wore!
One of the most anticipated things at the wedding is what the bride is going to wear. Long, short, lace, satin, the possibilities are endless. Designs of dresses tend to change with the fashions but the biggest change to happen to wedding dresses came in the 1840’s when Queen Victoria set the trend for white wedding dresses.
The film “Father of the Bride” starring Steve Martin from 1991 is one film that particularly sticks in our minds about wedding planning (if you haven’t seen this film, add it to your watch list) although we would like to take this opportunity to point out our wedding coordinators here at the Earl are NOTHING like ‘Fronk’.
From venue dressing, to the style of cake there is so much to choose from. No matter what your style is, whether you like to be high on trend or want that something different, be you and be happy.
