INTRODUCTION

The Earl of Doncaster is a newly refurbished ‘Art Deco’ independent hotel located in the South Yorkshire town of Doncaster, The Earl offers 71 superior and executive recently refurbished bedrooms, of both contemporary and boutique design, all with self-governing air-conditioning and en-suite.

The Hotel and onsite restaurant, decorated to the best taste and standard of Art Deco, along with two function rooms and a magnificent ballroom, catering for up to 350 guests and keeping in line with the art deco theme, The Earl is one of Doncaster’s best examples.

We aim to meet the needs of our guests, complimentary car parking with access spaces are located at the rear of the hotel, with ramp access to the single level reception, lounge and restaurant on the ground floor, as well as 8 ground floor bedrooms, 7 of which have walk-in showers for guests with limited mobility.

We are located just 500 metres from Doncaster town centre and 500 metres from the popular ‘Doncaster Racecourse’ renown for the St. Leger Festival.  The hotel is easily accessible from Doncaster Interchange, the M18 and A1 motorways and Doncaster Robin Hood Airport.

Doncaster Interchange is 1.5 miles away by taxi or a 12 minute walk.  Or, take the bus directly from the Interchange (bus 55 or 57) to bus stop BENNETTHORPE/ROMAN ROAD, where the hotel is opposite.  The bus service stops prior to midnight.
Taxis are usually available outside the train station, however we can book one in advance if you require.

CAR PARKING AND ARRIVAL

There are ample car parking spaces, free of charge, in our car park at the rear of the hotel, accessed via Roman Road.  All spaces are marked with designated access spaces and well lit.
On street parking is available at the front of the hotel, however spaces are usually taken between 8am and 5pm.  On the opposite side of the road, parking spaces are limited to a 2 hour stay.
Access can be gained to the property from both the front and rear of the hotel.  From the front, from the tarmac pavement, up several tiled steps into the level reception area.  From the rear of the hotel and car park, up the ramp or several steps into the level reception area.

WELCOME AREA

Guests are welcomed in the reception area, which is level throughout on the ground floor, where you will register for your room.
Seating is available in the reception and lounge area.
Male and female WCs are located in the reception area.
The area is well lit, with overhead lighting, wall lighting and table lamps situated through the area.
Assistance can be given with luggage should this be requested.

BEDROOMS

The guest bedrooms are accessed by means of stairs with a hand rail, or elevator to all floors, and corridors are all carpeted and level.
There are 8 rooms located on the ground floor.
All bedrooms have an independent air conditioning system and 32” flat screen digital TV with subtitles available.
Beds are made up with duvets, but blankets can be provided if preferred.
There is a telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, seating, desk and chairs, bedside tables, bedside lamps, a wardrobe, chest of drawers, iron and ironing board in all bedrooms.
We have four standards of bedroom, superior, executive junior suits and feature rooms, of which are at least a double size bed, and 27 of the beds can be split into 2 full size single beds (twin).
All bedrooms have recently been refurbished to either a contemporary or a boutique style design.  All bedrooms in the extended side of the hotel have been purpose built to a contemporary design.

BATHROOMS, SHOWER ROOMS & TOILETS

All bedrooms in the hotel are en-suite.  Executive rooms have separate bath and walk in shower, toilet and sink. Superior rooms have toilet, sink and shower over bath, or walk in shower only.
All bathrooms are tiled, with heat panel fitted mirrors, expelair fan and heated towel rail and toiletries.
Well lit with ceiling spot lights.
Walk in showers have a small lip into the shower.

PUBLIC AREAS – HALLS, STAIRS, LANDINGS, CORRIDORS

All public areas, halls, stairs and landings are well lit with wall lights and table lamps, with ceiling lights on all staircases.
Halls, stairs and landings are carpeted, with each floor being on one level.
There is a main lift in the hotel, that is well lit with hand rails, large mirror, audible announcements and tactile buttons.

LOCATION, FURNISHINGS, FACILITIES AND SERVICES OF THE LOUNGE

The lounge has recently undergone a refurbishment, it is adjacent to the Reception on the ground floor with a tiled one level surface, large fire place and bar with draught alcoholic drinks and Illy coffee.
Seating consists of Italian leather easy chairs and tables.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are served in the lounge, along with bar menu and afternoon tea.
The lounge is well lit with ceiling lights and table lamps, with large windows for natural light.
There are public WCs in this area.

RESTAURANT AREA

The Restaurant “Cafe Bar Concerto” is located on the ground floor adjacent to the Reception and Lounge on a level surface, tiled in the bar area and parquet flooring in the restaurant, all one level serving food from 11am until 9:30pm.
The Cafe Bar Concerto is decorated to the highest standard with an Art Deco theme.

The entrance to the Cafe Bar Concerto is a double door with excellent lighting, comprising of Ceiling lights, spot lights, table lamps and strip lights.
There is seating for up to 80 covers at any one time, all tables are table clothed with a glass surface and linen napkins.
A la carte menu, with Chef’s specials issued every evening and a wide selection of cocktails, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Live pianist playing every Sunday lunch.

PUBLIC TOILETS

Ladies and Gentlemen’s WC’s are situated on the ground floor adjacent to the Reception and on the first floor opposite the Ripon and Wetherby Suite and Ballroom.
Well lit, with electric hand dryers and lever taps.
Tiled, non-slip floors.

CONFERENCE AND MEETING ROOMS

The hotel has three function rooms; the Ballroom, Concorde Suite and the Ripon & Wetherby Suite.  With facilities ranging from 2 to 350, we can offer flexibility to both the business and public sectors.  All conference suites are adaptable to a wide range of needs.

BALLROOM
